Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Say: 'It is revealed to me that a party of jinn listened then said: "We have indeed heard a wonderful Koran, 1 guiding to rectitude. We believe in it, and we will not associate with our Lord anyone. 2 And that He-- exalted be the majesty of our Lord-- has not taken a consort, nor a son: 3 The dimwit one (the devil) among us has been telling confused lies about God. 4 and that “we had thought that men and jinn would never speak a lie about Allah”, 5 But there were certain men of mankind who would take refuge with certain men of the jinn, and they increased them in vileness, 6 ‘And that they assumed, like you humans assume, that Allah would not send any Noble Messenger.’ 7 "We went near the heavens but found it to be full of strong guards and shooting flames. 8 'We used, indeed, to sit there in (hidden) stations, to (steal) a hearing; but any who listen now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush. 9 we cannot tell if this bodes evil to those who dwell on earth or whether their Lord intends to guide them. 10 'There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary; we are groups each having a different way (religious sect, etc.). 11 And that we know that we cannot escape Allah in the earth, nor can we escape Him by flight: 12 ‘And that when we heard the guidance, we accepted faith in it; so whoever accepts faith in his Lord, has no fear – neither of any loss nor of any injustice.’ 13 "'Yet [it is true] that among us are such as have surrendered themselves to God - just as there are among us such as have abandoned themselves to wrongdoing. Now as for those who surrender themselves to Him - it is they that have attained to consciousness of what is right; 14 but as for those who have deviated, they have become firewood for Gehenna!"' 15 If they (non-Muslims) had believed in Allah, and went on the Right Way (i.e. Islam) We should surely have bestowed on them water (rain) in abundance. 16 and tested them with it. And whosoever turns away from his Lord's Remembrance, He will hurl him into a stern punishment. 17 All places of worship are for God; so do not invoke any one with God. 18 When the devotee of God stood up to invoke Him (the jinns) crowded upon him (to listen). 19
