The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O YOU ENFOLDED in your mantle (of reform), 1 Arise and warn, 2 proclaim the greatness of your Lord, 3 And keep your clothes clean. 4 And all abomination shun! 5 and bestow not favour in order to seek from others a greater return, 6 be patient unto your Lord. 7 Then when the horn shall be blown, 8 It will be a day of distress, 9 It will not be easy for those who deny the truth. 10 Leave Me (to deal) with him whom I created lonely, 11 and appointed for him ample wealth 12 And children to be by his side! 13 And I adjusted affairs for him adjustably; 14 And who yet coveteth that shall increase. 15 Nay! He is forward unto Our signs; 16 Soon I shall mount him on Saood, the hill of fire. 17 Verily he considered, and devised. 18 So let him be cursed! How he plotted! 19 Let him be destroyed. How he calculated! 20 Then he looked around, 21 and then he frowns and glares, 22 then he retreated and grew proud 23 And said: This is naught else than magic from of old; 24 This is naught but the word of a mortal. 25 I will cast him into Hell-fire 26 And what will explain to thee what Hell-Fire is? 27 It leaves and spares no one and nothing. 28 Darkening and changing the colour of man! 29 Over it are nineteen. 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
