By the moon, 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities. 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 A warning unto him of you who shall go forward or who chooseth to lag behind. 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 who will be in Paradise 40 About the guilty: 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 till the certainty (death) overtook us' 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 By no means. In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 Let him who will take heed: 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
