Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
