The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 and those that blow gently, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 By the angels hastening, 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
