The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 and gently take it away; 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 and hastily turned away, 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
