The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 And by those who float in space, 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
