The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 by the night swarming, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
