The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Then where are you going? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
