The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back – 10 he shall call for destruction 11 And he shall roast into a Blaze. 12 Surely he was (erstwhile) joyful among his followers. 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him! 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 or by the night in which things all come together to rest, 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter). 19 What is the matter with them, that they do not believe 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth. 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 except to those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for theirs is an unfailing recompense. 25
