The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it] 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 His account shall presently be taken by an easy reckoning. 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But he who is given his Book from behind his back 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 and he shall roast at a Blaze. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 by the night and what it covers, 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 God is quite aware of what they are storing in their hearts. 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 except those that believe, and do righteous deeds -- theirs shall be a wage unfailing. 25
