The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I swear by the mansions of the stars, 1 and [then bethink thyself of] the promised Day, 2 and [of] Him who witnesses [all,] and [of] that unto which witness is borne [by Him]! 3 Woe to the makers of the pit (of fire), 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel, 5 while they sat around it, 6 and were themselves witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 The only reason for which they tormented the believers was the latter's belief in God, the Majestic, and Praiseworthy. 8 to whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. God is witness over all things. 9 Surely for those who persecute believers, men and women, and do not repent afterwards, is the punishment of Hell, and the punishment of burning. 10 (But) for those who believe and do good works, for them there are Gardens underneath which rivers flow that is the Great Victory! 11 Verily, (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) the Grip (Punishment) of your Lord is severe. 12 Surely it is He who originates, and brings again, 13 And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Full of Loving-Kindness, 14 Lord of the Arsh, the Glorious, 15 Executor of His own will. 16 Hath there come unto thee the story of the hosts 17 of Pharaoh and of Thamood? 18 But they who disbelieve are in [persistent] denial, 19 And Allah encompasses them from behind! (i.e. all their deeds are within His Knowledge, and He will requite them for their deeds). 20 Nay; but this is a glorious Qur'an, 21 Inscribed in a tablet preserved. 22
