The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I swear by the mansions of the stars, 1 And [by] the promised Day 2 And the witness and the witnessed, 3 Cursed be the makers of the pit, 4 The people of the fuelled blazing fire. 5 When they were sitting at its edge. 6 witnessing what they were doing. 7 They had naught against them save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Owner of Praise, 8 Whose is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness of all things. 9 Surely those who tormented the believing men and the believing women and then did not repent, theirs shall be the chastisement of Hell, and theirs shall be the chastisement of burning. 10 As for those who believed and acted righteously, theirs shall be Gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great triumph. 11 Stern indeed is your Lord's punishment. 12 Lo! He it is Who produceth, then reproduceth, 13 And He is Oft-Forgiving, full of love (towards the pious who are real true believers of Islamic Monotheism), 14 Lord of the Throne, the All-glorious, 15 Doer (without let) of all that He intends. 16 Did the story of the armies reach you? 17 Of Firon and Samood? 18 And yet, they who are bent on denying the truth persist in giving it the lie: 19 but all the while God encompasses them [with His knowledge and might] without their being aware of it. 20 Aye! it is a Recitation glorious, 21 Inscribed in a tablet preserved. 22
