The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 he was created of gushing water 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 it is not a jest. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 And I secretly plan. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
