The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He was created of spurting water 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 And it is not amusement. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 and I am devising guile. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
