Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 And it is not amusement. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
