The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 it is not a jest. 14 They are devising guile, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
Almighty God's Truth.
