Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Have you heard the story of the overwhelming event (the Day of Judgment)? 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 Scorched by burning fire, 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food shall be theirs save bitter thorn, 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 [And] some faces will on that Day shine with bliss, 8 Rejoicing over their efforts. 9 In the high empyrean, 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 Therein will be a flowing spring, 12 raised couches, 13 And cups set at hand. 14 And cushions lined up 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And the sky: how it was raised high? 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted and fixed firm? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore advise; indeed you are a proclaimer of advice. (The Holy Prophet is a Remembrance from Allah.) 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 Allah will punish him with direst punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26
Almighty God's Truth.
