The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I swear by the night when it draws a veil, 1 By the Day as it appears in glory; 2 And by Who created the male and female, 3 Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse. 4 So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah), 5 and believes in the truth of the ultimate good 6 We shall facilitate for him the Way to Bliss. 7 And as for him who stinteth and is heedless, 8 And denied the best matter, 9 Surely We will ease his way unto adversity. 10 And his substance will avail him not when he perisheth. 11 BEHOLD, it is indeed for Us to grace [you] with guidance; 12 and to Us belongs the Hereafter as well as the present world -- 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 in which no one will suffer forever except the wicked ones 15 even he who cried lies, and turned away; 16 The pious ones will be safe from this fire 17 He who gives his wealth to be purified, 18 And who hath no favour from anyone to recompense. 19 acting only for the sake of his Lord the Most High -- 20 and such, indeed, shall in time be well-pleased. 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
