Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

By the morning brightness, 1 By the night when it darkeneth, 2 Thy Lord has neither forsaken thee nor hates thee 3 The Last shall be better for you than the First. 4 And indeed, in time will thy Sustainer grant thee [what thy heart desires,] and thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and take care of you? 6 Did He not find thee erring, and guide thee? 7 Did He not find you in want, and make you free from want? 8 Therefore, be not harsh with the orphan; 9 And as to the beggar, chide thou him not. 10 And as to the favour of thine Lord, discourse thou thereof. 11
