Thorns (Al-Masad)
5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
May the hands of Abu Lahab perish, may he be ruined. 1 His property and worldly gains will be of no help to him. 2 Anon he shall roast into Fire having flame. 3 And his wife too, who carries wood (thorns of Sadan which she used to put on the way of the Prophet (Peace be upon him), or use to slander him). 4 In her neck is a twisted rope of Masad (palm fibre). 5
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
