Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the winds which scatter dust, 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 and the partitioners, 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 Who are under a cover of heedlessness (think not about the gravity of the Hereafter), 11 They ask, "When will be the Day of Judgment and Justice?" 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 and will be told, "Suffer the torment which you wanted to experience immediately". 14 As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs, 15 Taking that which their Lord will vouchsafe unto hem. Verily they have been before that well-doers. 16 They slept very little during the night 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
