Ad gave the lie to the apostles. 123 When their fellowman Hud said to them, “Do you not fear?” 124 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust: 125 So fear Allah and obey me. 126 I seek of you no reward for this; my reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 127 What, you build a monument on every hill merely for fun 128 "And do ye get for yourselves fine buildings in the hope of living therein (for ever)? 129 When you attack, you attack as tyrants do. 130 “Therefore fear Allah, and obey me.” 131 and fear Him who has succoured you with what you know, 132 Provided you with grazing livestock and children 133 and gardens, and springs -- 134 “Indeed I fear upon you the punishment of a Great Day.” 135 They said: It is the same to us whether you admonish or are not one of the admonishers 136 This has been happening all along. 137 And we are not going to be tormented. 138 And they denied him; therefor We destroyed them. Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. 139 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 140
