The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the Mount Sinai, 1 by the book (Torah) written 2 on parchment for distribution, 3 And [by] the frequented House 4 And the lofty roof. 5 and the sea swarming, 6 VERILY, [O man,] the suffering decreed by thy Sustainer [for the sinners] will indeed come to pass: 7 Of it there is no preventer. 8 Upon the day when heaven spins dizzily 9 and the mountains are in motion, 10 Woe, then, will be on that Day to the beliers 11 Who, ignoring the Reality, engage in pleasantries. 12 On that Day when they shall be pitched into the Fire of Gehenna (Hell), 13 'This is the fire that you cried lies to! 14 Is it magic then or do you not see? 15 Burn in its heat. It is all the same for you whether you exercise patience or not; This is the recompense for your deeds". 16 But in the Gardens the righteous shall live in bliss, 17 rejoicing in that their Lord has given them; and their Lord shall guard them against the chastisement of Hell. 18 (They will be told): “Eat and drink to your hearts' content as a reward for your deeds.” 19 Reclining on thrones set in lines, and We will unite them to large-eyed beautiful ones. 20 To those who have attained to faith We shall unite their offspring who have also followed them in faith, and We shall not let any of their good deeds go unrewarded; every human being is a pledge for whatever he has earned. 21 And We shall succour them with fruits and flesh such as they desire 22 They shall pass therein from one to another a cup wherein there shall be nothing vain nor any sin. 23 ۞ and youths, of their own, shall pass among them as if they were hidden pearls. 24 They will turn to one another ask questions, 25 Saying: "We were also once full of fear at home. 26 "But Allah has been good to us, and has delivered us from the Penalty of the Scorching Wind. 27 "Truly, we did call unto Him from of old: truly it is He, the Beneficent, the Merciful!" 28
