The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Recite in the name of your Lord who created - 1 Hath created man from a clot! 2 Recite: And thy Lord is the Most Generous, 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Despite this, the human being still tends to rebel 6 that he sees himself sufficed. 7 Surely! Unto your Lord is the return. 8 HAST THOU ever considered him who tries to prevent 9 A servant when he prays? 10 Have you thought, if he had been on guidance 11 or if he commands others to maintain piety!? 12 What will happen if the prohibiting rejects the Truth and turns away from it!? 13 Did he not realise that Allah is watching? 14 No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock - 15 A lying, sinning forelock. 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! 18 No indeed; do thou not obey him, and bow thyself, and draw nigh. ۩ 19
