Do not think God is unaware of the wrongdoers' actions. He only gives them respite till the Day on which all eyes will stare fixedly in horror. 42 when they shall run with necks outstretched and heads erect, their glances never returned on themselves, their hearts void. 43 Warn the people of that Day when the punishment would be inflicted upon them. Then will the wicked say: "O our Lord, give us respite a while more. We shall heed Your call and follow the apostles." (But they will be told,): "Are you not those who used to swear: 'There is no reverse for us?' 44 And you dwelt in the dwelling-places of those who wronged themselves, and it became clear to you how We did with them, and how We struck similitudes for you. 45 They hatched their plots; but these plots were all within God's knowledge. Though their plots were such as to shake the mountains, God will bring their plots to nothing. 46 Never think that God will fail in His promise to His messengers. God is mighty and capable of retribution. 47 On the Day when the earth will be changed to another earth and so will be the heavens, and they (all creatures) will appear before Allah, the One, the Irresistible. 48 On that Day, you shall see the sinners coupled together in fetters; 49 their garments shall be black as if made out of pitch, and flames of the Fire shall cover their faces 50 Allah will recompense each soul according to its earnings. Swift is the Reckoning of Allah. 51 THIS IS A MESSAGE unto all mankind. Hence, let them be warned thereby, and let them know that He is the One and Only God; and let those who are endowed with insight take this to heart! 52
