Have you then seen him who turns his back? 33 And gave little, and then stopped? 34 Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees? 35 Or, has he not been informed of what is in the scriptures of Musa? 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 Then he will be recompensed with a full and the best recompense. 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 And that He it is Who makes (men) laugh and makes (them) weep; 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace of them, 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 So that there covered them that which did cover. 54 So O listener! Which favour of your Lord will you doubt? 55 He (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 No one besides God can rescue a soul from hardship. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 And will ye laugh and not weep,- 60 And you are lost in play! 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62
