The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 The closing night, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
