Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 What is the Sure Reality? 2 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! 3 The people of Thamud and Ad denied the Day of Judgment. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the awful cry! 5 And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind; 6 Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. 7 Then do you see of them any remains? 8 And Firaun, and those before him, and the dwellings that were inverted and thrown, had brought error. 9 and rebelled against their Lord's Messenger. So He took them with a stern taking. 10 But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, 11 so that We might make it an instructive event for you, and retentive ears might preserve its memory. 12 With the first blast of sound from the trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow - 14 on that Day, the Event occurs. 15 and the sky will be rent asunder - for, frail will it have become on that Day; 16 And the angels shall be on the borders thereof; and on that Day eight shall bear over them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 You will then be set before Him, and not one of you will remain unexposed. 18 Then as to him who will be vouchsafed his book in his right hand, he shall say: here! read my book! 19 Verily I was sure that I would be handed over my account.” 20 So he will be in a pleasant life - 21 In a lofty Paradise, 22 Whereof the clusters are in easy reach. 23 "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" 24 As for him whose Record will be given to him in his left hand, he will exclaim: “Would that I had never been given my Record, 25 “And had never come to know my account!” 26 Oh! Would that the death that came to me in the world had made an end of me! 27 “My wealth did not in the least benefit me.” 28 "My power has perished from me!"... 29 (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. 30 Then throw him in the blazing Fire. 31 and then thrust him into a chain [of other sinners like him - a chain] the length whereof is seventy cubits: 32 He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; 33 and he never urged the feeding of the needy; 34 therefore he today has not here one loyal friend, 35 "Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds, 36 which only the sinners will eat.” 37
