The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heavens with constellations, 1 By the promised Day (of Judgment); 2 And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah]; 3 THEY DESTROY [but] themselves, they who would ready a pit 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel, 5 When they were sitting at its edge. 6 and were themselves witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 And they resented them not except because they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy, 8 to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and earth. And Allah is the Witness of all things. 9 Surely those who tormented the believing men and the believing women and then did not repent, theirs shall be the chastisement of Hell, and theirs shall be the chastisement of burning. 10 Surely (as for) those who believe and do good, they shall have gardens beneath which rivers flow, that is the great achievement. 11 Verily the grip of thine Lord is severe. 12 It is He who originates and repeats. 13 And He is the Forgiving, and the Loving. 14 Honorable Owner of the Throne, 15 Doer of whatsoever He intendeth. 16 Hath there come unto thee the story of the hosts 17 Of Pharaoh and Thamud come to you? 18 But they who disbelieve are in [persistent] denial, 19 And Allah encompasses them from behind! (i.e. all their deeds are within His Knowledge, and He will requite them for their deeds). 20 But this is an honored Qur'an 21 in a guarded tablet. 22
