Have you then seen him who turns his back? 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Has he not been informed of what is in the Scrolls of Moses, 36 And with Abraham who kept his word: 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 nor can man achieve anything without hard labor. 39 And that his deeds will be seen, 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation 47 that He it is Who bestowed wealth and riches, 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 that He it is Who destroyed the ancient 'Ad, 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace of them, 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 And He overthrew the Cities of the Plain, 53 So there covered them that which covered. 54 Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? 55 This (Muhammad SAW) is a warner (Messenger) of the (series of) warners (Messengers) of old. 56 The threatened Hour is nigh. 57 No one besides God can rescue a soul from hardship. 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 and divert yourselves all the while? 61 So prostrate yourselves before Allah and worship. ۩ 62
