Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 And when the stars fall, scattering, 2 And when the seas are erupted 3 And when the graves are ransacked, 4 Every soul will come to know what it has sent ahead and what it left behind. 5 O man! What has deceived you about your generous Lord 6 Him Who created thee. Fashioned thee in due proportion, and gave thee a just bias; 7 In whatsoever form He listed He constructed thee. 8 Yet you deny the Last Judgement. 9 But verily, over you (are appointed angels in charge of mankind) to watch you. 10 Honorable recorders, 11 Who know what you do. 12 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 13 And indeed the sinners are in hell. 14 roasting therein on the Day of Doom, 15 and which they shall not [be able to] evade. 16 And what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is? 17 Again, what shall teach thee what is the Day of Doom? 18 It will be a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to any other human being, God [alone] will hold command on that Day. 19
