Al-Hajj 3 of 10

God will admit those who believe and do good deeds to Gardens watered by flowing rivers; there they will be given bracelets of gold and pearls to wear and their clothing will be of silk. 23 And they had been guided [in worldly life] to good speech, and they were guided to the path of the Praiseworthy. 24 Indeed, those who have disbelieved and avert [people] from the way of Allah and [from] al-Masjid al-Haram, which We made for the people - equal are the resident therein and one from outside; and [also] whoever intends [a deed] therein of deviation [in religion] or wrongdoing - We will make him taste of a painful punishment. 25

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
