Noah (Nooh)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Verily We! We sent Nuh unto his people saying: warn thy people ere there come unto them torment afflictive. 1 He said, “O my people! I am indeed a Herald of clear warnings to you.” 2 That you should worship God and fear Him, and follow me 3 and He will forgive you your sins, and defer you to a stated term; God's term, when it comes, cannot be deferred, did you but know."' 4 He said: "O my Lord! I have called to my People night and day: 5 And my calling hath only increased them in fleeing. 6 Each time I called them so that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers in their ears and wrapped themselves in their garments, and persisted becoming very proud. 7 Then I invited them publicly. 8 Then verily I spake unto them openly and secretly. I also addressed them. 9 I said to them: “Ask forgiveness from your Lord; surely He is Most Forgiving. 10 He will send you abundant rain from the sky, 11 And will help you with wealth and sons, and will assign unto you Gardens and will assign unto you rivers. 12 What is amiss with you that you do not look forward to the majesty of Allah 13 While He has created you in stages? 14 ‘Do you not see how Allah has created the seven heavens atop each other?’ 15 And has made the moon a light therein, and made the sun a lamp? 16 how God has produced you from the earth and caused you to grow, 17 then He shall return you into it, and bring you forth. 18 "'And God has made the earth a wide expanse for you, 19 so that you may walk along its spacious paths?" 20
