The dwellers of the thicket gave the lie to the apostles. 176 Recall, when Shuayb said to them: "Have you no fear? 177 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 178 so fear God, and obey me. 179 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure, and be not cheaters, 181 And weigh (things) with a right balance, 182 "And defraud not people by reducing their things, nor do evil, making corruption and mischief in the land. 183 And fear Him who created you and all the earlier people." 184 They said: Thou art but one of the bewitched; 185 Thou art but a mortal like us, and lo! we deem thee of the liars. 186 Therefore cause a portion of the heaven to come down upon us, if you are one of the truthful. 187 He said, "My Lord knows all that you do." 188 But they belied him, then the punishment of the Day of Shadow (raining fire) seized them. Truly, it was the punishment of a dreadful day. 189 Surely, in this is indeed a sign; but most of them would not believe: 190 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191
