Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the dominion, and He is Able to do all things. 1 He who has created death as well as life, so that He might put you to a test [and thus show] which of you is best in conduct, and [make you realize that] He alone is almighty, truly forgiving. 2 [Hallowed be] He who has created seven heavens in full harmony with one another: no fault will thou see in the creation of the Most Gracious. And turn thy vision [upon it] once more: canst thou see any flaw? 3 Then lift your gaze again, your gaze will return towards you, unsuccessful and weak. 4 We have adorned the lower heaven with lamps, and We made them a stoning for the satans, We have prepared the punishment of the Blaze for them. 5 For those who have disbelieved in their Lord, We have prepared the torment of hell, the most terrible place to return. 6 When they will be cast into it, they will hear it roar as it boils, 7 Almost bursting for fury. Whenever a group is cast into it, its keeper shall ask them: Did there not come to you a warner? 8 They will say: yea! surely there came a warner unto us, but we belied, and said: God hath not sent down aught, we are naught but in a great error. 9 And they will say, "If only we had been listening or reasoning, we would not be among the companions of the Blaze." 10 And they will admit their sin, so [it is] alienation for the companions of the Blaze. 11 Lo! those who fear their Lord in secret, theirs will be forgiveness and a great reward. 12 And whether ye hide your word or publish it, He certainly has (full) knowledge, of the secrets of (all) hearts. 13 How could He who created not know His own creation, when He alone is the Most Subtle in His wisdom and the All Aware? 14
