Hizb 46
< random >
And, verily, Yunus (Jonah) was one of the Messengers. 139 When he left towards the laden ship. 140 And then they cast lots, and he was the one who lost; 141 So the whale swallowed him, for he was blameworthy, 142 and had he not been among those who exalt (Allah), 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore while he was sick, 145 And We caused to grow, over him, a spreading plant of the gourd kind. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand or more people. 147 and they believed. So We let them enjoy life for a while. 148 (Muhammad), ask them, "Do daughters belong to your Lord and sons to them? 149 Or did We create the angels as females while they were witnesses?" 150 Lo! it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 "Allah has begotten children"? but they are liars! 152 Did He choose daughters rather than sons? 153 What is amiss with you and your judgment? 154 Then will you not be reminded? 155 Or have you clear evidence? 156 Then produce your scriptures, if you are telling the truth. 157 And they assert a relationship between Him and the jinn; and certainly the jinn do know that they shall surely be brought up; 158 (They say): “Exalted be Allah above what they attribute to Him, 159 Except the bondmen of Allah sincere. 160 So surely you and what you worship, 161 can lure away from God any 162 Except he who is to [enter and] burn in the Hellfire. 163 "There is not one of us who does not have his appointed place," (declare the angels.) 164 We stand in ranks (for prayer) 165 We glorify God." 166 And they surely were wont to say: 167 "If we had a message from [those of] the former peoples, 168 "We should certainly have been Servants of Allah, sincere (and devoted)!" 169 But (now that the Quran has come) they disbelieve therein (i.e. in the Quran and in Prophet Muhammad SAW, and all that which he brought, the Divine Revelation), so they will come to know! 170 And certainly Our word has already gone forth in respect of Our servants, the apostles: 171 will certainly be victorious 172 and that it is Our host that would certainly triumph. 173 Therefore turn away from them for some time. 174 And watch them, for they will soon see. 175 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 176 But when it descends in their territory, then evil is the morning of those who were warned. 177 And leave them for a time. 178 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 179 Hallowed be thine Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they ascribe! 180 Peace be with the Messengers (of God). 181 and all praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Universe. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
