The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ A. L. M. 1 The Byzantians have been overcome. 2 in a land close by. But, after their defeat they shall become the victors. 3 within a few years: [for] with God rests all power of decision, first and last. And on that day will the believers [too, have cause to] rejoice 4 in God's help; God helps whomsoever He will; and He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 5 The promise of Allah; Allah does not renege on His promise, but most people do not know. 6 They know only the outward appearance of the life of the world, and they! of the Hereafter, they are neglecetful. 7 Do they not reflect on themselves? Allah created the heavens and the earth and whatever lies between them in Truth and for an appointed term. Yet many people deny that they will meet their Lord. 8 Have they not travelled on the earth and seen how the others before them had met their end? They were far more powerful than them, furrowed the earth and colonised it far more than they; and their apostles came to them with visible signs. It was surely not for God to wrong them, they wronged themselves. 9 In the long run evil in the extreme will be the End of those who do evil; for that they rejected the Signs of Allah, and held them up to ridicule. 10
