The dwellers in El-Hijr cried lies to the Envoys. 80 for We did vouchsafe them Our messages, but they obstinately turned their backs upon them 81 They were hewing the mountains into houses, therein dwelling securely; 82 But the shriek seized them at early morning. 83 that they earned did not avail them. 84 We have created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, for a genuine purpose. The Day of Judgment will certainly approach, so (Muhammad) forgive them graciously. 85 verily, thy Sustainer is the all-knowing Creator of all things! 86 We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the great Qur'an. 87 Do not strain your eyes towards the worldly benefits We have bestowed on some of them, nor grieve on their account. Lower your wing of mercy for the believers 88 And proclaim, “Indeed I, yes I, am the clear Herald of Warning.” 89 even as We had sent warning to those who had divided their religion into fragments; 90 Who have made the Quran into parts. (i.e. believed in a part and disbelieved in the other). 91 Them, by thy Lord, We shall question, every one, 92 concerning that they were doing. 93 Proclaim then, what you are commanded and turn away from the unbelievers. 94 We suffice thee against the mockers, 95 Who place other gods besides God. They will come to know soon. 96 Indeed, We know that your breast is straitened at what they say. 97 So hallow thou the praise of thy Lord, and be thou of the prostrate. 98 And keep worshipping your Lord, till death* comes to you. (* The certainty.) 99
