Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 Labouring (hard), weary,- 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 no food for them but cactus thorn 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 Many a face will be in serenity on that day. 8 Rejoicing over their efforts. 9 in a garden sublime, 10 wherein thou wilt hear no empty talk. 11 Therein will be a flowing spring, 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 And cushions ranged! 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 And the mountains, how they were fixed; 19 And the earth – how it has been spread out? 20 Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, 21 thou art not charged to oversee them. 22 Other than him who turns his back and denies, 23 Allah will punish him with direst punishment. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26
