۞ And assuredly We vouchsafed unto Ibrahim his rectitude aforetime, and him We had ever known. 51 Recall what time he said unto his father and his people: what are these images to which ye are cleaving? 52 They said, "We found our fathers worshippers of them." 53 He said, "Indeed ye have been in manifest error - ye and your fathers." 54 They said: hast thou come unto us with the truth, or art thou of those who sport? 55 He said, “In fact, your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, the One Who created them; and I am of those who testify to it.” 56 I swear by God I will do something to your idols when you have turned your backs and gone." 57 Then he broke them all into pieces, sparing only the supreme one among them that they may possibly return to him. 58 They said, “Who has done this to our Gods? He is indeed cruel!” 59 Some of them said, "We heard a youth called Abraham speaking against the idols". 60 "Bring him before the people," they said, "that they may bear witness." 61 They said, “Did you do this to our Gods, O Ibrahim?” 62 He said, 'No; it was this great one of them that did it. Question them; if they are able to speak!' 63 Then gathered they apart and said: Lo! ye yourselves are the wrong-doers. 64 Then they were made to hang down their heads: Certainly you know that they do not speak. 65 He said, "Then do you worship instead of Allah that which does not benefit you at all or harm you? 66 Fie upon you and upon all that you worship beside Allah. Do you have no sense?" 67 They said, "Burn him to ashes if you want to help your gods". 68 We said: O fire! be thou cool and peace unto Ibrahim. 69 They sought to outwit him, but We made them the worst of losers. 70 and We saved him and Lot and brought him to the land upon which We had bestowed Our blessings for all the people of the world. 71 We granted him Isaac and Jacob as a gift and helped both of them to become righteous people. 72 And We made them leaders, guiding (mankind) by Our Command, and We inspired in them the doing of good deeds, performing Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and the giving of Zakat and of Us (Alone) they were worshippers. 73 And (remember) Lout (Lot), We gave him Hukman (right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) and (religious) knowledge, and We saved him from the town (folk) who practised Al-Khaba'ith (evil, wicked and filthy deeds, etc.). Verily, they were a people given to evil, and were Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient, to Allah). 74 and We admitted him into Our mercy; he was of the righteous. 75
