Pray, "Lord, if you would show me that [the punishment] of which they have been warned, 93 My Lord, then do not place me among the wrongdoing people." 94 And We are certainly able to show thee (in fulfilment) that against which they are warned. 95 Respond to the injustice (done to you) with the better deed. We know best what they attribute to God. 96 and say, "My Lord, I seek refuge with You from the prompting of the devils. 97 O my Lord, I seek refuge in You lest they attend me' 98 Until, when death comes to one of them he says: 'My Lord, let me go back, 99 That I might do righteousness in that which I left behind." No! It is only a word he is saying; and behind them is a barrier until the Day they are resurrected. 100 And when the Horn is blown, on that Day their ties of kindred shall be no more, nor will they ask each other. 101 Then, those whose scales (of good deeds) are heavy, - these, they are the successful. 102 But those whose scales weigh light will have ruined their souls; in Hell will they abide. 103 The Fire will scorch their faces, and therein they shall be grinning. 104 "Were not My messages read out to you? But you denied them." 105 They will answer, "Lord, misfortune overcame us and we became an erring people. 106 Our Lord! Take us out of this. Then if we revert (to evil-doing) we shall indeed be wrongdoers." 107 He shall say: Go away into it and speak not to Me; 108 "A part of My servants there was, who used to pray 'our Lord! we believe; then do Thou forgive us, and have mercy upon us: For Thou art the Best of those who show mercy!" 109 Then ye took them mockingly, so that they caused you to forget remembrance of Me, and at them ye were wont to laugh. 110 "I have rewarded them this Day for their patience and constancy: they are indeed the ones that have achieved Bliss..." 111 And He will ask: 'How many years did you live on earth' 112 They will say, "We stayed a day or part of a day. Ask those who have kept count." 113 He will say: 'You have tarried a little, did you know? 114 Did you, then, think that We created you in mere idle play, and that you would not have to return to Us?" 115 Therefore exalted be Allah, the King, the Reality: there is no god but He, the Lord of the Throne of Honour! 116 And whosoever calleth, along with Allah, unto god, of whom he hath no warranty, then his reckoning is only with his Lord; verily thrive will not the infidels. 117 And say: 'My Lord, forgive and have mercy, for Thou art the best of the merciful.' 118
