Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers. 139 When he ran to the laden ship, 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was among the losers, 141 Then he was swallowed by a large fish as he was worthy of blame. 142 Had he not been of them who glorify Allah, 143 He would have tarried in its belly till the day when they are raised; 144 ۞ But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill. 145 And We grew a tree of gourd (as a shelter) above him. 146 And We sent him to [his people of] a hundred thousand or more. 147 And they believed, so We gave them enjoyment [of life] for a time. 148 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Has thy Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Or that have We created the angels as females, while they were present? 150 Lo! verily it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 "God has begotten [a son]"; and verily, they are lying [too, when they say,] 152 Does He prefer sons to daughters? 153 What is the matter with you, how is it that you judge? 154 Will you then not take heed? 155 Or have you received some clear authority? 156 Then bring your book, if ye say sooth. 157 And they have invented a blood-relationship between Him and the Jinns: but the Jinns know (quite well) that they have indeed to appear (before his Judgment-Seat)! 158 Exaltations to Allah above what they describe, 159 Not thus, however, [behave] God's true servants: 160 So neither you nor those you worship 161 you shall not tempt any against Him 162 Save him who will go to hell. 163 Of us there is none but hath a station assigned. 164 "And we are truly those who stand in rows, 165 and we are of those who glorify Allah.” 166 And indeed, the disbelievers used to say, 167 'If only we had a reminder from the ancients, 168 Surely we would have been the bondmen of God sincere. 169 And yet, [now that this divine writ has been placed before them,] they refuse to acknowledge it as true! In time, however, they will come to know [what it was that they had rejected]: 170 Already has Our Word been passed before (this) to our Servants sent (by Us), 171 will certainly be victorious 172 and that it is Our host that would certainly triumph. 173 So, [O Muhammad], leave them for a time. 174 And wait; they will come to know soon. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our punishment? 176 When it descends upon their courtyards, evil will be the morning of those forewarned. 177 Withdraw from them awhile 178 And wait, for they will soon see. 179 Too glorious is your Lord, the Lord of power, for what they ascribe to Him. 180 Peace be upon the Messengers 181 And praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds. 182
Almighty Allah's Truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
