۞ And when a description of the son of Marium is given, lo! your people raise a clamor thereat. 57 And they said, "Are your gods better, or is he?" They did not present the comparison except for [mere] argument. But, [in fact], they are a people prone to dispute. 58 He ['Iesa (Jesus)] was not more than a slave. We granted Our Favour to him, and We made him an example to the Children of Israel (i.e. his creation without a father). 59 And had We willed We could have appointed angels born of you in the earth to succeed each other. 60 And indeed, Jesus will be [a sign for] knowledge of the Hour, so be not in doubt of it, and follow Me. This is a straight path. 61 And let not Satan bar you [from it] - for, verily, he is your open foe! 62 When Jesus came with clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty), he said: I have come unto you with wisdom, and to make plain some of that concerning which ye differ. So keep your duty to Allah, and obey me. 63 Verily Allah! He is my lord and your Lord, so worship Him: this is the straight path. 64 But factions from among those [who came after Jesus] began to hold divergent views: woe, then, unto those who are bent on evildoing - [woe] for the suffering [that will befall them] on a grievous Day! 65 Are they waiting except for the Hour to come upon them suddenly while they perceive not? 66 Friends will turn into enemies on that day, except those who fear and follow the straight path. 67
