Jinns (Al-Jinn)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf) before Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ SAY: "It has been revealed to me that some of the unseen beings gave ear [to this divine writ,] and thereupon said [unto their fellow-beings]: "'Verily, we have heard a wondrous discourse, 1 'It gives guidance to the Right, and we have believed therein: we shall not join (in worship) any (gods) with our Lord. 2 And He - exalted be the majesty of our Lord! hath taken neither a spouse nor a son. 3 The ignorant fool among us has spoken outrageously against Allah, 4 And verily we! we had imagined that humankind and jinn would never forge against Allah a lie. 5 But there were certain men of mankind who would take refuge with certain men of the jinn, and they increased them in vileness, 6 Those people thought, like you, that God would never send down a Messenger. 7 "We went near the heavens but found it to be full of strong guards and shooting flames. 8 And we used to sit on places (high) therein to listen. But he who listeneth now findeth a flame in wait for him; 9 And we do not know [therefore] whether evil is intended for those on earth or whether their Lord intends for them a right course. 10 And that some of us are good and others of us are below that: we are sects following different ways: 11 And we have become certain that we will never cause failure to Allah upon earth, nor can we escape Him by flight. 12 When we heard the Guidance, we believed in it, and whosoever believes in his Lord shall fear neither shortage nor injustice. 13 And of us some are Muslims, and of us some are deviators. Then whosoever hath embraced Islam - such have endeavoured after a path of rectitude. 14 but those who deviated from the Truth, will be the fuel for Hell.” 15 If people were to keep firmly to the Right Way, We would have vouchsafed them abundant rain 16 so as to test them by this means: for he who shall turn away from the remembrance of his Sustainer, him will He cause to undergo suffering most grievous. 17 And that the mosques are Allah's, therefore call not upon any one with Allah: 18 And that when the Servant of Allah stood up supplicating Him, they almost became about him a compacted mass." 19
