Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 it is a warning to man, 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Every soul shall be pledged for what it has earned, 38 except those of the right hand 39 [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other 40 And (ask) of the Sinners: 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They will say: we have not been of those who prayed. 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 and we were wont to indulge in sinning together with all [the others] who indulged in it; 45 "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
