In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 separating one from another, 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 For a known term? 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 “Move towards what you used to deny!” 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. (5) وقف المجاذبة أو المعانقة حيث يجب الوقف في أي من موضعين قريبين ولكن ليس كلاهما، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة تظهر في أحد الموقعين باحتمال النصف للنصف.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
