The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 And by those who float in space, 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 And the second followeth it, 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
