The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
