۞ Muster those who did evil, their wives, and that they were serving, 22 “Instead of Allah and herd them to the path leading to hell.” 23 and detain them there; they will be called to account. 24 They will be asked, "Why do you not help each other?" 25 Nay! on that Day they will be entirely submissive. 26 They will turn to each other saying, 27 They said, “It is you who used to come to us from our right, in order to sway.” 28 They answer: Nay, but ye (yourselves) were not believers. 29 And we had no authority over you, but you were an inordinate people; 30 So on us hath been justified the sentence of our Lord: verily we are to taste. 31 For we had led you astray. In fact we ourselves were astray." 32 So this day they all are partners in the punishment. 33 Verily We! in this wise We deal with the culprits. 34 Verily when it was said unto them: there is no god but Allah, they ever grew stiff-necked. 35 And they said: are we going to abandon our gods on account of a poet distracted? 36 Nay! he (Muhammad SAW) has come with the truth (i.e. Allah's Religion - Islamic Monotheism and this Quran) and he confirms the Messengers (before him who brought Allah's religion - Islamic Monotheism). 37 Lo! (now) verily ye taste the painful doom - 38 And you shall not be rewarded except (for) what you did. 39 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 40 For them is the sustenance known to Us. 41 and fruits while they are honored. 42 In Gardens of peace. 43 seated on couches, facing one another. 44 a cup from a spring being passed round to them, 45 clear, delightful to those who drink it: 46 there is neither sickness in it, nor intoxication. 47 And besides them will be chaste women, restraining their glances, with big eyes (of wonder and beauty). 48 like closely guarded pearls. 49 Then they will turn to one another, mutually questioning. 50 A speaker among them will say, "Indeed, I had a companion [on earth] 51 who would say: "Are you among the believers (of the resurrection)? 52 After we are dead and have become all dust and bones shall we still be requited?' 53 He said: 'Will you look down?' 54 Then, he will look and see him in the midst of Hell. 55 He says, 'By God, wellnigh thou didst destroy me; 56 for had it not been for my Sustainer's favour, I would surely be [now] among those who are given over [to suffering]! 57 What then, shall we not die 58 "Except our first death, and that we shall not be punished?" 59 Verily this! that is the supreme achievement. 60 and for the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of al-Zaqqum? 62 Which We have reserved as punishment for evil-doers? 63 Surely it is a tree that-grows in the bottom of the hell; 64 Its crop is as it were the heads of devils 65 So indeed they will eat from it, and fill their bellies with it. 66 Then indeed, they will have after it a mixture of scalding water. 67 then their return is unto Hell. 68 They indeed found their fathers astray, 69 Yet they hasten to follow in their footsteps. 70 Before them erred most of the ancients, 71 And indeed We had sent Heralds of warnings among them. 72 Look, then how was the end of those who had been warned, 73 Save the bondmen of Allah sincere. 74
